Classy McNasty

I weighed myself today and I am now ten pounds heavier than I was four weeks ago, before I came back home to Hawaii. I’ve gained more weight in a month than I did after a whole year in college. I’m getting side tracked with all the ‘ono licious’ foods, time to get back to work!

Shokudo Japanese Restaurant

If you are ever in Honolulu and looking for a great Japanese restaurant to eat, you should stop by Shokudo Japanese Restaurant in Ala Moana Pacific Center - Ground Floor , 1585 Kapiolani Boulevard. Me and my girlfriend went there last Saturday for our small anniversary and I had a great time. It was only my first time and I fell in love right away! I have eaten a lot of Japanese food before and the food at Shokudo were all foreign to me. The portions are very big so you can share. Make sure you call for reservations because the lines can get very long, but it is well worth the wait.

Appetizer | Chicken Karaage with Spicy Tartar Sauce and Cheese Mochi

I almost ate all the chicken before I remembered to take the pics. lol

Main Entree | Sushi Pizza

Dessert | Strawberry Toast (it was HUGE!!)

Say Goodbye

My first year of college is officially over. I have learned a lot this past year and realized so many great things. College is what you make of it. No one will tell you to go to class anymore and you are responsible for every decision you make.

What’s the best of part being finished? Going home of course! :)

I was scared that my flight may be delayed the day I was going home because Colorado’s weather is like Jaimie Foxx, its “unpredictable.” Me and Scottie, my roommate for next semester, rode through a storm for an hour like we were in search of severe weather.

Here are some pictures I took while I waited to board my flight.. I stopped at LAX for fifty minutes before I went straight home.

Wild Wild Horses

So according to my iTunes, I played the song “Wild Wild Horses” 63 consecutive times.  It’s my favorite track off the new Atmosphere album, “When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold!”

Everything is all I have to give you
And I’m afraid it ain’t enough
And you’re not so young that you believe me
Just because I say it’s love
And even if they come to steal you tomorrow
I’ll know my smile was yours
Go ahead and chase your dreams and your freedom
Run, run wild wild horses
You can’t tame these horses
You can’t tame these horses, no
You can’t tame these horses
You can’t tame these horses

Bittersweet

I have spent all of my afternoon today moving stuff out of my dorm into a storage place for the summer.  It’s such a great feeling now that I am almost done with my first year of college.  I am very happy to be leaving, but sad at the same time to leave the place I called home for almost nine months.  It was the perfect day today to move out.  The weather was a nice and sunny 77 degrees.  I got a little sunburnt from being out for two hours because I helped some of my friends move out their stuff also.

By the time I got back to my dorm, I just had enough time to shower and get ready to go out to dinner with my co workers in Centera.  We went to an Italian restaurant called “Biaggi’s.”  The food was great!  Ordering was a long and delayed process because there was so much on the menu that we wanted to try.  Our waitress came and went several times before she finally the orders.

I ordered “Chicken Pietro.” It was grilled chicken breast marinated in garlic, dijon mustard, honey, and topped with mushrooms with a side of zucchini, yellow squash, and other vegetables.  Dee-lish!

After dinner, my boss gave a little farewell to us all and shared with us a gift called “The Secret” written by Christian D. Larson.  “The Secret” is a motivational letter to help us remember who we are, and to make sure we always be true to ourselves.  Along with that, we were all given mini zen gardens, which was really cool!  I’ve always wanted one! lol.  Overall, it was a loud and fun dinner with a very sad ending.  It was heart breaking when my boss announced her retirement on our staff meeting a couple weeks ago.  She was always energetic and had a smile tatooed to her face everyday I came to work.  I can honestly say, some of the best times I’ve had going to school here was at work, and it was all because of her…

After all that, it is still Finals Week.  I still haven’t done any studying yet, but I will get on that soon.  It’s nice to get a break sometimes.  I just can’t wait to be done so I can go home and see my girlfriend. 3 more days left. :)

Jaw Gymnastics

I think I have found my solution to finals, and it seems to be working pretty well.  Students are often finding ways to help fight through “all nighters” and “cramming” sessions during finals week and most turn to caffeine to help relieve some stress.  Me? I chew on Fusen gum! If you’ve never had Fusen gum, you’re missing out on the best gum in the whole world. The melon flavor is my favorite. :)

I always make sure to stock up on these whenever I go to Asian Supermarkets.

You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having

Once again, I find myself cramming for my upcoming finals on Wednesday and Thursday.  I just started studying for Biochemistry, and have yet to write my final English paper about “The Handmaids Tale,” study for Anatomy & Physiology and Art History.  I can sort of handle all of that, I think.  So far so good with time management.

Look at how empty my desk is. I packed up most of my stuff on Friday.  They will be moved out tomorrow afternoon into a storage place for the summer.  I’m happy to finally be moving out of the dorms and to be finished with the semester!  I almost died with the workload I had, especially from Anatomy & Physiology :/

Ok, enough ranting and back to studying!

*currently listening to the Atmosphere album, When Life Gives you Lemons, You Paint that Shit Gold*

which kids next year sound the same as me”
